Meet Our Team
Marianne Redmond Lopez, LCSW, LICSW, LMSW
My name is Marianne Redmond Lopez, and I’m probably not your typical therapist. I’m a survivor of many things, I’m transparent, and I can be a little unorthodox at times. You will never wonder whether you’re sitting with a real person. I’m down-to-earth, direct, and I bring a solid sense of humor into the room—because life is hard enough already.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Virginia and licensed in VA, KY, DC, OR, MA, MI, IL, and RI, with additional states in progress. My goal is to help people uncover their true potential and move forward with confidence toward the life they want—not just cope but truly grow. I don’t believe in surface-level work. I’ll dig in with you and help you heal from the inside out—not just hand you a few skills for symptom relief and send you on your way. I want the full picture, because the more I understand, the better I can help you help yourself (and yes, that still makes sense). I’m analytical, solution-focused, and research-oriented, with extensive experience working with older adolescents, adults, and couples. I primarily work with adult women and men, first responders, emergency professionals, teachers, therapists, executives, veterans, clergy, and other helping professionals—people who are used to holding it together for everyone else.
I specialize in working with individuals and couples navigating narcissistic abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, grief and loss, borderline personality patterns, relationship and marriage challenges, those that have been relationships with those with narcistic personality patterns, addictions (all), shame and guilt, boundary development, daily life stressors, people-pleasing patterns, mood disorders, domestic violence, and low self-esteem—along with anyone needing new ways to cope with life’s everyday messiness.
My therapeutic style is eclectic and relational. I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Therapy, trauma-informed approaches, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also hold certifications in telehealth, trauma treatment, PTSD, mood disorders, personality disorders, and sexual health treatment, among others.
I earned my Master’s degree from VCU and began my career on the front lines—working in triage-style mental health clinics, hospitals, social services in Southwest Virginia, and on the streets of DC and Northern Virginia. Over the years, I’ve worked in many roles with diverse populations facing complex challenges. That experience has shaped how I work today: practical, compassionate, steady, and honest.
I know life can be incredibly difficult. I also know it can improve with effort, collaboration, and the right support. I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can be fully yourself, reconnect with your values, and make meaningful changes. We’ll work on accepting what you can’t change, responding thoughtfully to what you can, and moving forward with intention.
Life gets messy. Let’s work together to get you to a better place.
